No one felt sorry for Katharine McPhee when she came in second. It was obvious she was going to make it big -- win or no win! And she did just that. Immediately signed to a recording contract by series creator Simon Fuller’s label and RCA Records, her first single titled, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/My Destiny” made it to number 12 on the Billboard charts. She also won the cool title of “Big 'It' Girl" from VH1’s "Big in '06 Awards.” Katharine has finished working on her new album which is scheduled to hit stores on January 30, 2007.
